The city authorities dispatched multiple crews and road construction equipment to get the streets and roads cleaned up and safe to drive. Normally the cleaning crews would leave some warning signs on the road a few days before their arrival to notify locals in advance and for them not to park their vehicles in this area. Cars parked along the curb on the street may be in the way of cleaning machinery or completely blocking some parts of the street.
But, apparently, now they do not really care, they just come and go without any warning or notification in advance.
As shown in the photo, provided by dissatisfied residents, there is dirt on the road after the cleaning crews worked in the area and damaged curbstones left behind. A vehicle was parked on the street and cleaning crew just worked their way around it, leaving sand and dirt on the road.
People are complaining about the quality of service and road maintenance. After cleaning crews are gone, there are great amounts of sand and dirt left on the road. Bags and some other things left just laying in the driveway upside-down and in a mess.
With the amount of property tax we pay in Winnipeg, and city authorities announced the rise of taxes in 2019-2020, such work and community services are just unacceptable.
Longtime residents, most of whom were born and lived all their life in Winnipeg, are not happy with the service they been getting recently, especially this year!
