$13M lottery ticket sold in Winnipeg

When reading news and there is an article about someone hitting a lottery jackpot, didn’t it make you think: “Not with my luck”? But still, Everyone dreams of hitting a lottery jackpot, but not everyone even tries and buys lottery tickets. Life is full of surprises, not always good ones, but sometimes it's just your lucky day!

One lucky Winnipegger just became a millionaire, although now he or she does not even know about it.

Just yesterday, March 1st Western Canada Lottery announced that the Lotto 64/9 winning lottery ticket, bought on February 27th, was purchased here in our city.

“We have not received news from the owner or owners of the ticket, but we look forward to it,” said Kevin van Edg of Western Canada Lottery.

The prize pending is $ 13,345,152.30, this is quite a prize, congratulations to our fellow Winnipeg. Everyone waits for the owner of the winning ticket to come forward and claim the prize!

In 2018, 16 Manitobans won prizes of $1 million or more. Twelve of those winners were in Winnipeg.

Just last week another Winnipegger hit a million dollars at Lotto 64/9, and the winning ticket was purchased at Winnipeg Square.

Theresa Marcelino bought a ticket for the Jan. 30 6/49 draw at Kim’s Lottery Link in Winnipeg Square and is now “living in a dream.”

“Winning a million dollars just doesn’t feel like a real thing,” Marcelino said in a statement released by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries Friday.

Marcelino said she plans to use the win money to pay off her condo and will share some of it with her daughter.
