A 15-year-old girl wrote a song about historical events of World War I

Heidi Wright is fifteen and she is a grade 11 student at Technical Vocational High School in Winnipeg. The girl told that she likes music and history most of all among school subjects.

So, it is not a surprise that Heidi decided to write a song about historical events of World War I. Her song is about Corporal Leo Clarke, Sergeant-Major Frederick William Hall, and Lieutenant Robert Shankland.

All these men grew up in Winnipeg, distinguished themselves by their courage in World War I and received the country's highest honour.

Heidi said that when she saw the mural, she decided to create a song. A big inspiration came to her and she could not help but do it. She also said that the story of these brave men is far from being known to everyone, and it was an honour for her to tell about their life and fate in her song.

The girl hopes that her song will become very important for the residents of the city and will not leave them indifferent.
