Past Sunday, November 4th a two-story house got on fire in the 100 block of Nichol Avenue.
Emergency crews responded at approximately 8:20 p.m. and began an offensive attack to extinguish the fire and check for the occupants possibly trapped inside the house.
Thankfully all the people that were in the building safely evacuated themselves and nobody was injured.
As of now, there is no information about the reason of the fire, also no estimates as for the damages done to the building. Fire Department still continues its investigation, the official report will be presented once the investigation is closed.
Also, a series of small fires happened in Point Douglas Friday, October 26th. A youth suspect was arrested a few days later. Police had arrested the 16-year-old on Granville Street near the scene of one of four fires that took place in the Point Douglas area between 4:10 and 4:18 a.m.
The teen was previously being investigated following a deadly house fire that claimed the life of an 11-year-old girl and her grandmother. But as per police, those small arsons, that he is responsible for, are not connected to the deadly house fire on Prince Edward Street the same day.
