October 27 and 28 became very busy for Winnipeg Police

October 27 and 28 were incredibly busy for the Police. As it became known, more than 20 crimes appeared during the weekend. Some criminals were arrested, and some investigations are still underway.

Here is the list of the incidents that happened on the weekend. 

There were 8 robberies:

On Saturday morning in the 1700 block of Portage Avenue.

On Saturday afternoon in the 700 block of Ellice Avenue.

On Sunday at Cavalier Drive and Gerrond Bay.

On Sunday on St. Mary’s Road.

On Sunday on Burrows Avenue.

On Sunday in the 100 block of Marion Street.

On Sunday on Manitoba Avenue.

On Sunday on Marion Street.

4 stabbings:

On Sunday morning a man was stabbed near Sargent Avenue and Maryland Street.

On Sunday morning there was a confrontation between two groups of people in the River Avenue and Osborne Street area.

At about midday on Sunday a man was stabbed in the area of Osborne Street and Rosedale Avenue.

On Sunday evening a man was stabbed in the area of Qu’Appelle Avenue and Carlton Street.

6 assaults:

On Sunday morning a man was assaulted in the 400 block of Ross Avenue.

On Sunday afternoon a man was assaulted in the 300 block of Portage Avenue.

On Sunday morning several officers were assaulted in a Roblin Boulevard residence.

On Sunday afternoon a loss prevention officer was assaulted at a St. James Street.

On Sunday afternoon an officer was assaulted on Marion Street.

On Sunday a beer store employee was assaulted on Pembina Highway.

Other violent incidents:

On Sunday night a man was shot on Dufferin Avenue.

On Sunday staff at Health Sciences Centre was threatened.
