A horrible incident happened a month ago in Winnipeg, but the arrest was made only one month later.
On August 30th a 911 call was received approximately 10:45 p.m. about a 21-month-old child in the unresponsive state. A mother found her baby boy in the bed, tried to wake him up, but he wasn’t responding. Police were called to a house in Idlewild Bay area, also ambulance arrived and took the baby to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately due to the blunt force trauma to his upper body and received internal organs injuries, the boy died in the hospital.
The child was identified as Drake Catcheway by his mother, April Thompson, who called 911. She told police that a child was taken by her boyfriend, who is not his biological father, to the boyfriend’s family, where he was put to bed and approximately one hour later, April went to check on her son and found him like that.
Woman`s boyfriend, Allen Joseph Frier Beardy was recently arrested by the child abuse unit, after the autopsy report showed multiple internal injuries, police believe were inflicted on purpose, which resulted in child`s death.
