The adventures of the famous bear continue: a new book with this amazing heroine has been published.
All fans of Winnie the Bear are looking forward to September 25. On this day in Winnipeg's bookstores there will be a new book that connected her adventures and the events of the First World War- Winnie’s Great War.
Readers will be able to plunge into different episodes from the First World War and will look at everything with the eyes of the main character. This is not the first book written by Lindsay Mattick about Winnie. It will be the continuation of Finding Winnie.
In the new book Winnie will face a lot of adventures and dangers, and she will meet such new characters as talking squirrels and a goat
The author took most of the stories for the bear's adventures from the records and diaries written by her relative who was at the war. Mattick studied those diaries for several years.
The writer told that Winnie the Bear became famous after the soldier bought her in Ontario and took her with him to the war. Mattick is the great granddaughter of that soldier and she is inspired by his stories very much. She read how her great grandfather took the bear to the zoo and other incredible adventures.
The book is created for children aged 8 to 12, but Lindsay is sure that a lot of adults will find it interesting to read.
