The fate of the lost nude scene with the participation of Marilyn Monroe became known.
When the movie star and singer Marilyn Monroe played together with Clark Gable in The Misfits, they had a love scene. During the scene, the sheet covering her naked body fell down.
However, film director John Houston refused to add the scene to the final version of the movie.
After that, the scene with the naked Monroe disappeared, but the scriptwriter Charles Casillo, the author of Monroe's biography that has not been published yet, decided to find out the fate of the lost scene.
Casillo interviewed Curtis Taylor, Frank Taylor’s son. He was the producer of The Misfits. The man informed that his father considered the cadres valuable and saved the tape. After the death of the producer in 1999, his son put the film into the safe.
The scene lasts 45 seconds. We can see Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable acting in a love scene. The man is fully dressed, and the woman throws off the sheet that covered her body and remains naked. Then she begins to dress. This was the first time when Monroe was completely naked during her film career.
Until now, it was considered that the only nude scene of the actress was an episode of an unfinished movie Something's Got to Give.
