Lin Gibson, artist, writer and activist, created "Murdered by Misogyny: Forever", a multi-site installation of 14 plaques that were displayed across Winnipeg to memorialize these women and to draw attention to gender-based violence. . Works are dedicated to the events of 1989, 14 women were killed at Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal in a brutal act of misogyny. One of the 14 plaques, honouring Nathalie Croteau, was acquired jointly by the University of Winnipeg Students Association ((UWSA) and the University of Winnipeg and this plaque has been displayed on the west wall of Gallery 1C03 since 1990.

The UWSA's Women-Trans Spectrum Centre and Gallery 1C03 are partnering to present a memorial event in conjunction with the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women.
