It's finally here - summer vacation! Your canoe's been waiting for you. Maybe you or your kids even plan to spend some time puttering around in it on vacation. But wouldn't it be great if you really knew how to paddle it well, or if you knew how to handle a tipping and get back in your boat if worst-came-to-worst?
You will even learn some skills to help you find adventure - take your canoe from one lake to another, or go exploring up streams.
Intended for casual cottage paddlers, this canoe clinic is offered by Paddle Manitoba and will be taught by a Paddle Canada certified instructor. Gain confidence and skills under their guidance. This clinic is available to those ages 10 - 100, provided at a nominal rate of $10 to reserve your seat, with two sessions available: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm and 1:30 pm - 5:30 pm - both at the main beach on Falcon Lake.
Participants must bring a canoe, pfd, and paddle. If you have, please bring a throw bag, whistle and bailer. If you do not, one will be provided.
Students should prepare for wet feet, and will have the option of going through an in-water rescue situation and may want to plan to swim.
