Last Sunday, March 3rd a teenager was killed during a violent home invasion at night. Responding police shot the 29-year-old suspect, who remains in critical condition.
When police arrived minutes later, they found a man, 29, attacking 17-year-old Jaime Adao with a weapon. In order to stop the attack, police had to shoot the man.
The wounded criminal was delivered to a hospital in critical condition, where doctors were fighting for his life. As of now, there is no information about his condition, the police officers are still working on the scene, the investigation continues.
The suspect identified as a 29-year-old Ronald Chubb, he has a long history of breaking and entering, according to court documents. As an adult, Chubb has been convicted about 11 times for break and enters, dating back to 2009.
Chubb was supposed to appear in court for breaching his probation on Tuesday, the documents show.
Chubb remains in hospital in critical condition but it’s believed he will pull through and be charged.
Police chief Danny Smyth updated media on the investigation at a community meeting Friday night at Maples Collegiate. The suspect may have been under methamphetamine influence at the time of the home invasion incident.
