Every automaker company got into the situation when a major problem with a vehicle is noticed after thousands of cars were already sold, sometimes millions, which makes it even harder and very expensive to recall such vehicles for inspection and possibly replacement of faulty parts or modules. Ford Motor Company is not an exception, but this time it is a very expensive recall.
The American automaker Ford Motor recalls nearly 900,000 pickups F-150 in North America because of problems with the heater cable of the engine block as per to a company statement.
More than 410 thousand will be recalled to the United States and about 464 thousand in Canada. Among the recalled models will be 2015-2019 F-150 pickups and 2017-2019 Super Duty pickups.
The water and pollutants can get into the cable connector and lead to corrosion and cable breakage, later this could lead to a malfunction of the heater. The company has become aware of about three cases of fire.
At the end of October, the company recalled about 1.5 million cars due to the risk of engine problems. The recall covered model years from 2012 to 2018 with two-liter four-cylinder engines. In the United States of America 1,282,596 of these cars are registered, 136,272 in Canada and 44,521 in Mexico. The company representatives said they are not aware of any accidents or injuries caused by this problem. The recall is expected to start on December 10th of this year.
