Everyone dreams of hitting a lottery jackpot, but not everyone even tries and buy lottery tickets. Life is full of surprises, not always good ones, but sometimes it's just your lucky day!
But there are those, who decide to go the other route and… steal the lottery tickets and some cigarettes. Last Sunday, November 11th two men and a woman robbed a store in the 1400 block of Pembina Highway and stole a large number of cigarettes and lottery tickets.
Police officers searched the area and found a Hyundai Sonata – which had been reported stolen from October 20th, displaying a plate that had been stolen from another vehicle on Saturday. All four occupants of the vehicle were placed under arrest, and police seized what they said was a substantial amount of cigarettes and lottery tickets.
With the help of a K-9 unit, police tracked the fifth suspect to River Avenue and Osborne Street, then followed him to an address in the 600 block of Elgin Avenue. The man was arrested and found to be in possession of the keys for the stolen vehicle.
