An ice room in Sweden hotel will be designed by a couple from Winnipeg.
Winnipeggers know a lot about ice and snow, so it is no surprise that two of them are heading to Sweden to build a themed room in this country's famous Icehotel.
Jenny O’Keefe together with her husband Chris Panko will cut the room completely out of ice. In the recent interview, the couple said that they could not believe their luck, they could not think they can win.
It will be called Spruce Woods, it will be a headboard canoe, beavers holding night shoes, a VW van and, of course, a canopy of spruce. Everything will be cut from the ice, including the fire, which will be lit from the inside.
A typical Canadian camp is the basis of Spruce Woods.
Jenny and Chris think that Scandinavian and European countries are romantic and beautiful but Canada is also very good.
Icehotel Sweden, which first opened in 1989, is located in the village of Jukkasjärvi, about 200 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle.
