Last year one of the RCMP officers was accused of the behavior the raised a lot of questions, accusations said he was inappropriately touching a 17-year-old teenage female, the case was pending for over a year due to the investigation and time needed to work with the witnesses and their testimonies.
The female victim alleged in 2017 that while being searched during an October 2016 arrest, an officer inappropriately touched her body.
An internal investigation was conducted and the accused officer was temporarily suspended. But after that the statement was issued clearing the officer, he will not face any charges. Prosecutors said the incident didn’t meet charging standards, as there was no reasonable likelihood of a conviction.
It is not the first time an officer is accused of inappropriate behavior during the female suspect search, not all accusations are true, but sometimes official charges brought up and some cases are going to trial, sometimes with convictions.
