Crash at Pembina and Bishop Grandin

Driving when under alcohol or a drug influence is not just a bad decision, it also dangerous for your own safety, your passengers and people in other vehicles and on the street, not even mentioning the cost of repairs and fines as a result of a crash or a traffic stop.

Three people were taken to hospital after a crash on Pembina Highway at Bishop Grandin Boulevard early Sunday morning. Police say the crash happened around 5 a.m. and involved two vehicles, with one of them flipped onto its side. A pick-up truck heading north on Pembina hit a vehicle turning south on Bishop Grandin.

The driver of the truck was taken to hospital in critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable. The driver of the second vehicle was taken to hospital in unstable condition but has also been upgraded.

Later a 31-year old Winnipeg man, who was driving a truck that caused the crash was arrested and will be charged with driving while impaired causing bodily harm and refusing to provide a sample.

Such accidents are always scary and dangerous ones, people are in the hospital, thankfully their condition was upgraded to stable and there is no danger to their life now. The police investigation still continues, the road is still closed, crash reconstructionists are working on site. As of now, there is no information from police on when the road will be open for traffic.
