The NHL team Winnipeg Jets has signed a 3-year novice contract with a 19-year-old promising Finnish forward Kristian Vesalainen.
In the 2017 Draft, he was selected by Jets in the first round. Last season, Kristian played in his native Finland for the Kärpät and HPK teams. In total, he played 49 matches in the Finnish regular season, where he scored outstanding 43 points (22 goals and 21 assists). In the playoff round, he spent 18 matches (4 goals and 4 assists). Such a result allowed him to become the 6th scorer and to lead the team to victory in the championship.
As it is said in the contract, Vesalainen will earn $1.492 million per year. He will also be able to return to play in Europe if he gets a little practice in the NHL.
Another news from the Jets is that the 21-year-old Czech right winger Spacek will play the next season in the AHL, where he spent last season playing for Manitoba.
