A man found his stolen vehicle and tried to stop the driver from getting away, but ended up in the hospital. Winnipeg police are investigating the incident and looking for a carjacker.
Earlier last week a vehicle was stolen from Rossmere neighborhood. Past Friday, around 3 p.m. the owner came across his vehicle that was reported stolen and in wanted by police, it happened on McLeod Avenue. The owner tried to stop the driver from leaving but unfortunately didn’t succeed, was dragged by the moving car and got injured. He was later delivered to a hospital in a stable condition.
Winnipeg police found the stolen vehicle later that day, obviously, the carjacker decided to abandon the car due to the meeting with the owner and leave on foot or in another vehicle.
As of now, nobody was arrested and no suspects identified yet. A major crime unit is still working on investigation and police asks for a public help with any information about the car theft incident earlier last week or similar cases. Also, witnesses of a man being dragged by a vehicle on Friday are asked to come forward with a statement, any details might help and lead police to a carjacker, or visit Crime Stoppers online.
