The active construction of roads in Winnipeg will continue in the fall

Residents of Winnipeg will experience inconvenience due to repair work on the streets of the city in the fall too.

Representatives of the city authorities of Winnipeg announced that repair work on the roads will continue in the fall. In 2018, the city planned to repair 255 road sections and only 66 of them were completed at the moment.

Manager of Engineering at the Public Works Department Brad Neirinck noted that the timing of other construction works on the roads at the moment is impossible to be determined. The timing depends on many factors, especially weather conditions in the city. As he said, more accurate information should appear at the end of September.

However, it is already known that many road construction projects have been postponed to 2019. Next year, repair work will be carried out on such streets as Garry Street, Fermor Road, Empress Street and the Waverley Underpass.

According to Heirinck, roadworks in the city this year are quite successful. He also thanked all the residents of Winnipeg for their patience and understanding, because the construction work on the roads brings them great discomfort.
