The funds from Criminal Property Forfeiture Fund will be used to improve the effectiveness of the Brandon Police.
Deputy BPS Chief Randy Lewis gladly commented this news, noting that this money will go to purchase equipment that the police could not afford. He promised that these purchases would significantly improve the efficiency of police work and the safety of officers in carrying out assignments.
Tactical equipment, such as ballistic vests and helmets, will be purchased for $76500. Another $32500 will go for the purchase of other special tools, such as surveillance equipment, flashlights and much more.
In total, since 2016, the Brandon Police Service has received $450,000 funding.
